List

I am going to make a list of things I will miss about Vegas. Although I don't really like living here, there really are rare things I will truly miss about this place. I have a longer list of what I hate, but I'm going to be positive and write nice things about this city, afterall...everyone deserves good creds!

1) I will miss monsoon season...definately...and that is why it is my number one.
2) I will miss the snow. Random snow falls. The snow capped mountains.
3) I will miss the 'cold' temperatures.
4) I will miss 'peacock park'...(Floyd Lamb state park)
5) I will miss the availabilities of the city. (24 hr everything)
6) I will miss SuperCenter Wal-Mart.
7) I will miss the Air Force base being 20 miles away from my home.
8) I will miss The Strip at night.
9) I will miss New Years Eve celebration.
10) And foremost, I will miss our house. Our house we worked so hard to buy, and make it a home. The entire reason for us moving to Las Vegas was because we wanted this house. This was our "American Dream"

These are the big things I can really think of right now. I feel so much negativity towards this city...but in all fairness, it isn't the city's fault.
It isn't the people who were part of the reason why I feel this way. It wasn't the fact that this city isn't like my hometown. It is the fact that it is so hot, and so isolated. Yes, I feel that this city is all alone. It's a big city, but everyone is detached. There doesn't seem to be a family vibe here.
But the bottom line goes down to the hot summers. I hated the heat the second we got out of our U-haul truck. We moved here in May of '03, and it was already 115* out. I had just left an 75* city that morning...so the shock of such temperatures turned into hatred of summers here. Everything looks the same. All the houses. The entire city is one big dust plate. Everything is sand colored. All the houses are painted to match the sand. I don't know. I miss my trees. I miss my greenery. I miss, above all the ocean.

I wish I could miss you more Las Vegas, but, we just weren't meant to be. And I truly believe it wasn't your fault.

I hate the heat. Hate it. I definitely feel you on that one.

Moving always seems like such a sad time, even if you don't like the are, you know? I remember moving from an apt and situation that caused me so much heartache and stress, yet cried the day I left because it was over. At least you have sunny, beautiful SB on the horizon!
