Today was a good day

After feeling low for a few days...I am happy to say that I had a wonderful outing. It is refreshing to feel refreshed.
I went out with my friend Jen to eat lunch. We had an awesome lunch over at Pei Wei. After lunch we went to Babies R Us because she's 17 weeks pregnant, and wants to start getting ideas for the baby's room. She will be finding out the gender of the baby soon!!
We looked at all the car seats, all the strollers. The cribs. The clothing. It was so much fun. I must admit tho, that I didn't have a tinge of baby fever. After having my tubes tied, I always thought that maybe I'd someday still would crave a baby...but no...never happened. And then when I needed the hysterectomy, I thought I'd be depressed that it was officially over, and that maybe someday I would take it hard or it would be difficult for me to see baby stuff, especially the newborn clothes...but being out today with Jen made me realize that I had made the right decision 2 years ago about getting my tubes tied...and this past August I knew it wasn't the end of the world by having my hysterectomy. I know I am done. I know I won't ever crave being pregnant. Now, I can fully enjoy other women being pregnant. I can be happy for them. I can be worried for them if they're stressed or are having difficulties. I no longer will be the one on bed-rest, the one going to high risk obstetricians. I can relax, and enjoy it from this side now. It's lovely. I love the view. I loved how excited my friend was looking at stroller after stroller. I was so happy when she kept asking for my opinion on this or that. I loved looking at her belly. I loved looking at my (almost) two year old behaving wonderfully and patiently as we walked the entire store. It was 'refreshing'.
Not only was my outing wonderful...when I got back home Caliah was a light of sunshine. She had the biggest smile. She was waiting for me to ask her how her day was...no sooner was I done with the question when she started reminiscing about her day at school. She had 3 exams during the morning. Passed them all with an A. After lunch they had some study time...and an hour before class was over her teacher's dad came to visit them...and help them with a project.
They each wrote a letter to their butterflies. (They've been growing and caring for caterpillars, and watched them grow into their cocoons, and watched them develop into beautiful butterflies...and today was the day to set them free) Caliah wrote a letter to her beautiful yellow butterfly.
She said she was happy her butterfly was alive. She loved the way her butterfly's wing puttered. And she wished her butterfly a happy flight, and a happy life.
After they wrote the letter, her teacher's dad inflated balloons, and he helped the students place the letters in the balloons. They went outside. Grabbed the butterflies net, and released them. Caliah said all her classmates were jumping with joy as the butterflies took flight. Some fluttered around them, others took off immediately. After a few minutes from the butterflies release, the students each let go of their balloons, and that is what made Caliah tell me it was her best day in school, ever. She said her balloon was flying high, and she was happy it went towards the sun.
Seeing her face made my day have it's cherry on top of the cake.
